Kandya ‘Trimma’ kitchen unit 1950s
A 1950s kitchen cabinet designed in 1956 by Frank Guille – part of the ‘Trimma’ range of modular kitchen units made by Kandya.
A classic piece of post-war kitchen design and a precursor of the modern fitted kitchen. This unit was originally designed to fit into a corner with the doorless half covered by another unit fitted at right angles. It could also be blanked out to cover the pipework for a sink or partitioned to provide half cupboard/ half open shelves. No worktop fitted, but one can be sourced and fitted to your requirements.
Constructed from solid beech, plywood and conti board. The sliding doors have been painted in a light blue and dark grey (Farrow & Ball Lulworth Blue and Downpipe) to echo the original colour-scheme but could also be supplied repainted in a colour of your choice – please message for details.
Front restored and refinished. Small marks, blemishes and light signs of wear consistent with age.
