‘Safari’ footstool by Erik Wørts for Niels Eilersen 1960s
Vintage Danish ‘Safari’ footstool or ottoman with beech wood frame and padded canvas sling designed by Erik Wørts for Niels Eilersen in the 1960s.
Designed to complement the classic Safari chair, this low stool employs the same knockdown construction allowing it to be easily disassembled and transported whether going on Safari or just moving to Surrey. Rather than disguise its flat-pack form, it makes a feature detail of the black socket-head screws that hold it together.
The original canvas sling has been re-padded with new fire retardant foam. There is a small ‘rust’ stain around the stitching at one corner and a few spots on the underside but otherwise the oatmeal coloured canvas fabric is in good condition. Some small dings and faded marks on the turned beech wood legs.
Approx. dimensions (cm): 60w x 38d x 42h
UK delivery included.
The stool will be shipped disassembled (of course).
