Danish Royal System modular shelving by Poul Cadovius 1960s
A collection of units from the iconic Danish Royal System modular shelving series originally designed by Poul Cadovius in 1948 and made in the mid-1960s.
Finished in teak with afromosia wall rails and brass-plated and black shelf hangers. This collection includes two cabinets with a distinctive basket-weave effect drop front: a bureau/secretaire unit with teak letter-rack dividers and four small drawers with finger-joint detail; and a cocktail/drinks cabinet with two drawers and a black wire bottle rack. The 40cm-deep shelf between the two cabinets provides a useful additional table top when using the desk.
There has been a restoration of the right-hand edge of the cocktail cabinet and a tiny filled repair around the keyhole (see photos). The modules and fittings are otherwise in good original condition. Some minor scratches and marks consistent with age. Working locks with replacement keys.
This set includes: 4 x 152cm wall rails; 1 x bureau cabinet 42.5h x 37.5d; 1 x cockail cabinet 42.5h x 37.5d; 3 x 30cm deep shelves; 3 x 24cm deep shelves; 1 x 40cm deep shelf with black steel hangers. Brass-plated shelf hangers, pins and supports. All units 80cm wide. Overall width 244cm.
Delivery to mainland GB included.
