Sideboard by Alfred Cox 1960s.

An elegant mid-century sideboard by renowned furniture maker, Alfred Cox, who notably produced high-quality, hand-built pieces for Heal & Sons and other upmarket department stores in the 1950s and 60s. This stunning sideboard is extremely well constructed, built principally from solid teak with some fine teak veneer used for grain effects and a darker afrormosia wood lip round the top. The wood has a pronounced vibrant flame which really catches the light.

It bears the Alfred Cox ‘AC’ maker’s mark and ‘Handcraft Quality Furniture’ badge. Removable cutlery tray which sits on runners in the top drawer makes a nice feature which is testament to the design and quality of this sideboard. Dovetail joints for the drawers and top-quality materials. This sideboard has been well loved and looked after and is presented in excellent original condition with no repairs or restoration needed. There are some faint indentations from use on the top but there are no significant scratches or damage. All in all, a magnificent mid-century sideboard which would sit beautifully in any modern or traditional setting.

Approx dimensions (cm): 172(w) x 80(h) x 50(d)
