‘Dunfermline’ model sideboard in teak by Tom Robertson for A.H. McIntosh of Kirkcaldy c.1965
A stunning 7ft long credenza finished in teak veneer. Designed by Tom Robertson as part of the ‘Dunfermline’ range of furniture made by McIntosh in the mid 1960s.
There is a central shelved cupboard enclosed by two doors with circular handles. On the left there are three drawers with sculpted asymmetric handles. The upper drawer has red baize lining. On the right there is a drop down door which reveals a cocktail cabinet with a pull-out melamine faced table.
A.H. McIntosh were renowned for the quality of their furniture which was produced using traditional cabinet-making techniques and this sideboard is a fine example of that tradition.
This elegant piece has been carefully cleaned and refinished with Danish oil ready for modern use. It is in excellent condition with only minor flaws as to be expected for furniture of this age, including some minor blemishes on the top.
