Table & 6 chairs by H W Klein for Bramin, Denmark 1970s

SOLD

An extendable table and 6 chair set in a 1960s design by H W Klein and manufactured by Bramin, Denmark in the 1970s.

Made from solid and veneer mahogany wood with a deep brown lacquer finish. The seats have been fully re-upholstered with new fire-retardant fillings and re-covered in a vintage-finish gold velvet.

The tall dining chairs have elegant serpentine lath backs with the distinctively shaped joints between the back legs and top rail that are typical of Klein’s dining chair designs for Bramin. The table legs are detachable for ease of transport and storage and have an unusual tear-drop cross-section.

The six chairs can all be fitted around the oval table in its unextended form; but it also extends from 165cm to an impressive maximum of 265cm with two extension leaves to accommodate more seating or just more space for elbows and dishes.

Light signs of wear with very minor scuffs and fine scratches to the wooden surface of the chairs and tables but otherwise in very good condition. Chairs fully reupholstered.
