Teak secretaire bookcase by Johannes Sorth for Bornholm Møbelfabrik 1960s.
SOLD
A tall teak bookcase and secretaire combined in a classic design by Johannes Sorth and produced by his own company, Bornholm Møbelfabrik in Nexø, Denmark in the 1960s.
The bookcase has two shelves, each adjustable to five positions. Three main drawers below. Above the pull-out desk top, the central tambour doors open to reveal the secretary features: three small drawers with afromosia handles, shelves, and three pigeonholes.
Excellent quality and craftsmanship.
Stamped on the reverse with the maker’s mark which incorporates the outline of the island of Bornholm and the initials BM frequently leading to this model being wrongly attributed to Børge Mogensen.
Very good original condition; tiny filled chip to middle drawer-front.
