Model 50 chairs by Erik Buch for Oddense Maskinedskeri 1960s
SOLD
A pair of Vintage Danish teak dining chairs with arms (carvers) Model 50
designed by Erik Buch to match the iconic Model 49 dining chair and produced by Oddense Maskinsnedkeri in the 1960s. Simple lines and comfortable curves make this a classic Danish Modern design. The curved seat appears to float over the solid teak frame; and the frame for the back with domed wooden buttons concealing the fixings is reminiscent of the headstock of an electric guitar.
As well as the understated good looks, the chair’s supportive padded backrest is one of the most comfortable of the era, which must have been part of this design’s enduring popularity.
The chair shown here has been reupholstered with new fire retardant foam and black vinyl leather. The whole set of eight can be supplied with the same covering or with a suitable fabric of your choice for little or no extra cost. Please contact for more details.
A set of 8 of the matching dining chairs without arms Model 49 is also available in a separate listing.
