‘Trimma’ kitchen unit by Frank Guille for Kandya 1956

A 1950s kitchen cabinet/sideboard designed in 1956 by Frank Guille – part of the ‘Trimma’ range of modular kitchen units made by Kandya.

A classic piece of post-war kitchen design and a precursor of the modern fitted kitchen. This cabinet could also be used as an informal, free-standing sideboard in other settings.

Constructed from solid beech for the frame, drawer fronts and handles; birch ply covering the carcass; and a formica top with upstand in a monochrome mosaic pattern. The main sliding doors have been painted in a light blue and dark grey (Farrow & Ball: Lulworth Blue and Downpipe) to copy the original colour-scheme but they can also be supplied repainted in colours of your choice – please message for details. The top could also be removed in order to incorporate the cabinet under a longer worktop.

Fully restored and refinished. Small marks, blemishes and light signs of wear consistent with age.

Approx. dimensions (cm): 157.5w x 53.5d x 89.5h (92h inc. upstand)

Delivery to mainland GB included.

We have some other wall and base units in the same range ready for restoration in the colourway of your choice. Please message for details.
