‘Dunvegan’ model teak sideboard by Tom Robertson for McIntosh 1960s
SOLD
A design classic, Tom Robertson’s sideboard model for the ‘Dunvegan’ range is highly sought after and justly popular.
A very simple and un-cluttered façade finished in honey-coloured teak with pleasingly organic carved handles which echo the best Danish designs of the era. The sideboard was made in by McIntosh in Kirkcaldy and retailed in Edinburgh by C & J Brown House Furnishers of Newington who substituted their own label for the manufacturer’s badge.
There are three graduated drawers (the top drawer has a black felt lining and removable cutlery dividers); a central double-door cupboard with a cut-away shelf; and a cocktail cabinet with a drop-down door: the drinks cupboard has a grid for standing bottles and a highly practical pull-out melamine shelf for cocktail preparation.
Very good vintage condition with only light marks of age and use. The top has been re-finished.
