PS System modular shelving: Denmark 1960s

A selection of modular wall units from the popular PS System designed by Preben Sørensen in the early 1950s and manufactured in Denmark by Randers Møbelfabrik.

This supremely versatile system can be configured in countless combinations with each of the shelves and cabinets independently hung on metal pins inserted into holes along the vertical rails.

This combination comprises 2 x 1.5m wall rail; 2 x 138cm wall rail; 4 x 20cm book shelves with brass suspension arms; 1 x glass door cabinet 25cm d x 51cm h; 1 x drop-door cocktail/bureau cabinet 40cm h x 40cm d; 2 x drawer unit 45cm d x 14cm h; hanging pins and shelf supports. All units are 80cm wide.

Good vintage condition; some light marks and wear consistent with age.

Other sets of PS units are also available and modules could be combined on a mix-and-match basis to create a bespoke combination.
