Mansonia wood sideboard by Renato Magri, Italy 1962

A superb sideboard designed in 1962 by Renato Magri and made by Cantieri Carugati near Milan.

This Model M-11 has an unusual Mansonia wood finish which has been restored and re-lacquered to bring the beautiful grain and rich colour back to life. Four central equal drawers with distinctive box-joint corners and with recessed handles that form a pattern of inset squares. The drawers are flanked by two cupboards with an adjustable shelf whose sliding doors run in front of the drawers. There are three wide, shallow tray-like drawers above which again have featured box-joints and with a full-width lip that acts as the handle.

Good restored condition with a few very minor repairs and age-related marks.
