A 1960s high teak sideboard with secretary desk and cocktail cabinet.

A very versatile piece of multi-functional furniture providing ample storage. At the top there are three sliding doors which reveal cupboards with adjustable shelves. The right-hand cupboard is a small cocktail cabinet with a black glass floor and a cut-away black glass shelf. In the central section there are four equal drawers on the left and a wide drop-down secretary desk secured by the original lock and key and with its own small drawers and letter shelves. The lower section comprises cupboards with adjustable shelves behind three sliding doors. The sideboard is finished in teak veneer with solid oak legs.

The sideboard is unlabelled but was apparently imported directly from Denmark by the original owner in the 1960s. The tone of the teak wood and the birch-lined drawers are , however, typical of Swedish pieces from this era and the distinctively shaped handles closely match the designs produced by Yngve Ekström for DUX.

Very good original condition. Some small dark spots on the desk door (pictured).
