Troeds ‘Kontiki’ dining chairs by Yngve Ekström set of 4

Set of four teak dining chairs designed by Yngve Ekström for Swedish manufacturer Hugo Troeds in the 1960s.

Clean simple lines and stunning teak grain.
Stamped underneath with the maker’s mark, designer and model.
The seats have been newly reupholstered to meet UK domestic fire regulations in black vinyl to match the original. Solid teak frames in good original condition – small chip at the base of one of the legs.

A pair of Troeds ‘Garmi’ carver chairs with arms is also available to make a set of 6. Troeds did not produce a version of the Kontiki with arms and the Garmi model, although by another designer (Nils Jonsson), is very similar in style and would blend well with these chairs.
